Grassroots operates through a volunteer-led model. Donations are used carefully to fill gaps where volunteers and partners cannot — such as housing costs, essential supplies, coordination, and professional support when required.

We prioritize direct support and community-based solutions, and regularly adapt our work based on emerging needs.

Who your donation supports

This website supports Grassroots’ international and pilot programs. Donations made here help provide housing, practical support, and coordination for people facing displacement and crisis through these initiatives.

Donors may choose to support a specific community or pilot project, including:

Refugee claimants
Women and families fleeing violence
Government-assisted refugees (GARs) who do not receive sufficient funding to meet basic needs

When a donation is designated for a specific group or project, those funds are used for that purpose.

Support for displaced Ukrainians is coordinated through our Ukrainian-focused website. Donations made there are used exclusively for Ukrainian programs.
